Installing the Chassis

CAUTION

The UPS chassis andbattery traysare heavy(seepage 54).A minimum oftwo people

are required tolift theUPS into therack.Use caution whenlifting the modules.

NOTE The UPS andExtended BatteryModulesMUSTbe installed at thebottom of

the rack.If placed in a rack with existingequipment,the rackmust bereconfiguredto

allow theUPS installation atthe bottom ofthe rack.

After the rails are installed in the rack (refer to the instructions included

with the rail kit), use the following procedure to assemble the UPS.

1. If you are installing an optional EBM, position the chassis in the

bottom of the rack and slide into place.

2. Attachthe EBM chassis to the rack using the screws supplied

withtherack(seeFigure2).

3. Using two people, position the UPS chassis in the bottom of the

rack (or above the optionalEBMs) and slide into place.

4. Attach the chassis to the rack using the screws supplied with

therack(seeFigure3).
